Detroit Tap Repertory Benefit Concert

Detroit Tap Repertory to perform at St. Pat Senior Center

Concert on Friday May 11 to benefit one of Midtown's gems

On Friday, May 11, the thrilling sounds of tap dance will fill the auditorium at

St. Patrick Senior Center.  The 8 PM performance by the Detroit Tap Repertory is a fundraiser to help the center continue serving the area's elderly.

Led by dance veteran and former Rockette Denise Caston, the troupe has performed in New York, Chicago, and all over the metro area - including the annual Motor City Tap Fest, Detroit International Jazz Festival and the Michigan Breast Cancer Walk.

St. Pat Center was founded in 1973 - and serves over 2000 seniors with daily meals, transportation and advocacy services, and a tremendous array of classes and activities.   Like many non-profits today, the center is more dependent than ever on support from its friends, patrons and the public.

The performance is also a great opportunity to visit St. Pat, located at 58 Parsons, behind Orchestra Hall.  The beautiful 120-year old former school building and surrounding grounds are an oasis in the middle of a bustling city - and are also available for meetings and events.

The performance is being sponsored by the Peacock Room - a new boutique in the Park-Shelton Hotel at Woodward and Kirby.

Donation is $10.  For more information please call St. Pat Center at 313 833 7080.
